About the Coach Kevin Foundation

The Coach Kevin Foundation is a Tennessee nonprofit organization, founded in June 2026, helping children and young adults ages 5 to 22 overcome financial barriers to sports. We provide grants for equipment, camps and clinics, and registration and program costs: the essential costs that keep young athletes on the field, the court, and the diamond. "If you can touch it, you can catch it."

We were founded on a simple belief: talent and determination should decide who plays, not household income. Named for Kevin Hall, known to generations of Woodbine athletes in South Nashville as Coach Kevin, we carry forward a commitment to showing up for kids, season after season. Through donor support, memberships, volunteers, and community partners, we turn local generosity into real playing time for real athletes. The foundation is led entirely by volunteers. No one on our team is paid.

Our Team

is to provide children and young adults with the opportunity to pursue their dreams in sports by removing financial barriers, building confidence, and creating pathways to success.

Our vision: a Tennessee where every young athlete who wants to play has the opportunity and the support to do so.

Our Values

  • Access. We fund the essentials first: the fee, the gear, the ride, before anything else.

  • Dignity. We treat every applicant family with respect. Asking for help is strength, not shame.

  • Community. We are Tennessee communities supporting Tennessee kids. Local first, always.

  • Transparency. Every dollar is accounted for. Donors and families can see where support goes.

  • Character. We believe in the whole athlete. Effort, character, and growth matter as much as scores.

The Coach Kevin Foundation is led entirely by volunteers.

Our mission

Kevin Hall believed every kid deserves a shot. In the Woodbine neighborhood of South Nashville, he was more than a coach. He was the man who made sure no child sat on the sidelines because their family couldn't afford to play. He bought equipment out of his own pocket. He covered league fees when parents came up short. He opened his home to kids who needed a place to stay, fed them, and drove them to and from practice when nobody else could.

He didn't do it for recognition. He did it for the kids, for the teams, and for the community, because that's what showing up means.

After his passing, his sons founded the Coach Kevin Foundation to take his work further than one man ever could alone. What Dad did out of pocket for Woodbine, the foundation now carries across Tennessee: funding young athletes, supporting at-risk youth, and growing the community he loved.

His words are our motto: "If you can touch it, you can catch it." Because every dream is within reach when a child is given the chance to strive for it.
